There is more than one artist with this name: 1) カレン, Japanese visual kei band. 2) カレン, Japanese enka singer. 1. カレン was a Japanese visual kei band that formed on December 1st, 2001. They had their first live on March 23rd, 2002. On August 17th, they performed at an event that had been organized by the label Matina, handing out their first demo tape "Solve" for free. On December 20th, 2002, their first single "「flow～」" had been released and around two weeks later they performed on Matina's final event. Not much later, in April, they signed their contract with the UNDER CODE label and released their first mini album "Reincarnation" on July 21st in 2003. Their first full album "Reset～a revolving lantern～" released on January 10th, 2004, followed by their first one man concert on January 31st. A second single came out on February 27th, namely "とまどい", but it has only been sold at live shows. On June 30th, their mini-album "Actually" was released. Together with マーディレイラ they released a coupling CD that has been produced by KISAKI on July 2nd. Thus, they started a coupling tour with アンティック-珈琲店- and るう゛ぃえ on July 31st. On August 25th, 2004, they sold the limited maxi-single titled "Writings" during their second one man concert. About a month later, on September 23rd and 26th they performed on a two man live show with パニックちゃんねる + PANIC☆ch, followed by another tour through all of Japan together with アリス九號. that started on November 2nd and lasted until November 25th. February 2nd, 2005, brought another maxi-single with it titled "ウタカタノココロ" followed by yet another mibi album - "ニライカナイ" on March 2nd. During a concert on December 7th, 2005, カレン announced that they were going to disband in February, 2006, but not without releasing their best-of-album "Primary Song Memorial". She released her major debut single on September 23rd 2009 and album later in December. In September of 2010, she graduated from the NICE GIRL Project! and has since released two more albums.
