Anthony D'Amato

Anthony D'Amato (born 27 November 1987 in Blairstown Township, New Jersey) is an American songwriter and singer signed to New West Records. His 2016 album 'Cold Snap' was produced by Mike Mogis and features performances by Conor Oberst and members of Bright Eyes, The Faint, and Cursive. D'Amato initially gained indie acclaim with his album releases, "Shades of the Prison House" (2009) and "Down Wires", which debuted in October 2010. In 2009, The New York Post included one of D'Amato's songs from "Shades of..." on their year-end "Best of" list and since then he has been increasingly featured in print and online sources including The New York Times, Paste Magazine, Spinner.com, My Old Kentucky Blog, and Slowcoustic. Mr. D'Amato has also been highlighted as "one to watch" this past year on iTunes, AOL Spinner, and on NPR as of January 2011, when his layered and melodious "My Father's Son" made "Song of the Day" for January 19th. A talented multi-instrumentalist and mixer, D'Amato is credited for playing the guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, pedal steel, keyboards and harmonica on the tracks that comprise his most recent musical venture, "Down Wires" and for mixing and producing it, a part at a time, from inside his Princeton dorm room.
