Aston Iain Merrygold (born 13th February 1988 in Peterborough, England), is a singer, songwriter, actor, dancer and model. Aston is currently a member of the MOBO and BRIT award winning English boyband JLS. JLS were the runners up to Alexandra Burke in the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008, and have since gone on to release two UK number 1 singles with ‘Beat Again’ and ‘Everybody In Love’, and a debut eponymous album, which also topped the UK charts. “The Club Is Alive” and "Love You More", their fourth and fifth single releases, taken from their second album “Outta This World”, returned them to the top of the UK charts in July and November 2010, whilst "Outta This World" reached #2 in the UK album chart upon it's release. Within JLS' noted colour scheme, Aston's colour is blue. He made his first public appearance on TV in 2002, performing as Michael Jackson on a kids' version of the popular ITV series "Stars In Their Eyes", where he came second. He also appeared as 'Cookie' in the pre-school series "Fun Song Factory" in 2004 and auditioned, unsuccessfully, for "Britannia High" in January 2008. Aston is often cited as something of a teenage heartthrob in the group, due to his high vocal range and acrobatic backflip displays during live shows. Read more on Last.fm.
