Songs and more information can be found at: http://benjaminthomasrobinson.bandcamp.com/ http://www.benjaminrobinson.co.uk Benjamin Robinson is a singer / song writer from Leicester, The Midlands, in the UK. Predominantly acoustic, in the mould of alternative / indie in sound, tending to sway towards emotional ballads of gravity. ==Early Band Years== Benjamin started off as the rhythm guitarist of psychedelic / shoe gaze tinged indie band 'Euphoria' before assuming lead vocals when Andrew McWilliam departed for University in the early days of the band. The band evolved with various line up changes into ‘Sun Joda’, by which time Benjamin Robinson had assumed main function of song writing responsibilities. ‘Sun Joda’ were only to play a handful of Local gigs around Loughborough and Leicester before splitting under the pressures of not being able to perform live due to persistent voice problems encountered by Benjamin. It was only after sinus surgery full vocal ability was recovered. By this time the band was truly history and the bands best material was never presented to a live audience… ==Present Day== The transition to solo artist took time to evolve, particularly into live performance, once again. Although the songs were there the first full live set was a long time coming. After an irresolute full set performance at a charity showcase evening, live performance began to fit into place. Several more local gigs, mainly at the Firebug Bar in Leicester, culminated in a first trip to London on November 6th 2006 to play at the Vibe Bar in Brick Lane. A fraught journey resulted in a drained performance. Although recordings in demo form of most songs exist, actual released recordings have been somewhat limited. Towards the end of 2006 a self produced ‘Pok EP’ was produced and sold locally. The end of 2007 saw another ‘Pok EP’ released (with different track listing to orginal EP) via iTunes and several other online outlets. ==Discography== 2007 Pok EP (iTunes release Oct 2007) Benjamin cites as his influences not just other musicians, but also non musical influences such as the paintings of John William Waterhouse and Michael Whelan's ammonite infested fantasy artwork. Benjamin has also claimed to have received much inspiration from Charlie Chaplin. Read more on Last.fm.
