Bit By Bats were a band that formed in 2003 in Adelaide, Australia before relocating to Melbourne and breaking up in 2007. In their time together, Bit By Bats released two EPs and one full length album, and toured Australia with the likes of Youth Group, Cut Copy, Howling Bells, and The Grates. The band also enjoyed numerous international support slots, having shared stages with Wire, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, Peaches, Von Bondies, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Nicola Sarcevic and Les Savy Fav. In 2006 Bit By Bats played at Australia's biggest festival, the Big Day Out, before playing two national headline tours and then entering Birdland Studios to record their debut album with producer Dean Dirt. 2007 was also a huge year for Bit By Bats, with three national tours; performances at the Essential Festival and at Canadian Music Week; a visit to triple j studios to record Enya's 'Orinoco Flow' for Like A Version; the successful national release of their debut album Go Go Go! on Shiny Records; and Dan Reid's animated film clip for single 'One Six One' screened as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival. Owen Eszeki, Peter J Gravestock and Ben Macklin parted ways on amicable terms and are pursuing individual musical interests. Read more on Last.fm.
