There are two artists by this name : BRIAN DUNN of Maine, U.S.A. Offical Site: www.BrianDunnMusic.com Biography: Brian Dunn is the unusual indi-acoustic singer/songwriter from Maine. His creative style ranges from common Folk to his own "FolKrazE" and self proclaimed "Hick-Hop", often blending the differences. His sometimes awkward approach interweaves portrait-like melodies with makeshift poetry; however, his uncanny lyrical phrasing is what's come to be known by all for carrying a depth and twistidity that borders on the "mysticomical." Songs have been described as everything from endearing and haunted to grossly absurd, but always delivered with the same unique charisma. Brian has been featured numerous times on ABC Radio's Famegame web & radio show. Brian's ABC Radio Famegame page Influences: Annabelle Dunn, Butthole Surfers, Guy Clark, ABBA, Biggie, the Smiths, Morrissey, Townes Van Zandt, NWA, Ween, BeeGeez, Steve Earl, Badboybill, Paul Simon, Charlie Parker, Lynard Skynyrd, the B&W Micky Mouse Club, Tupac, Misfits, HankWilliams3, Exodus, old Metallica, Carpenters, Kool Keith, John Denver, Bryan Killough, Tom Dunn, the San Francisco Gay Men's choir, Russ Young, Beatles, Tracy Chapman, DuranDuran. ----------------------------------------------------------- BRIAN DUNN of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada Website: http://www.briandunn.ca Genres: Folk, Alternative Email: info@briandunn.ca Label: COSMIC DAVE'S RECORD FACTORY Biography : Before recording his solo debut, Brian Dunn spent six years on the road with the likes of Vancouver's OX and fronting the Alt-Country outfit the November Allstars-whom we must assume were too mentally healthy to take on the darkness that he swims around in. Red eyes, bleary whiskey talk, throwing up on Irsh Sunday-you can practically smell the soggy cigarettes and feel the stale beer sticky floor listening to this record. Sounding somewhere between Neil Young's Stray Gators and Tonights the Nights band and wailing like David Byrne in a punctured cowboy hat. Dunn sings and playts with a chilling sense of purpose. "Examining The Fallout is a fractured and powerful artistic statement that gets better with repeated exposure. Not for the timid or easily upset. Brian Dunn has been nominated for two MUSIC AND FILM IN MOTION Awards for 2011. Nominations include BEST SONGWRITER BY A SOLO PERFORMER AND BEST ALBUM FOR A SOLO PERFORMER for Brian's 'Examining The Fallout' CD Released June 29 2010 Read more on Last.fm.
