Brown Mark (also spelled Brownmark; born Mark Brown, 1962) is the former bassist of The Revolution, music artist Prince's original touring (and later also his recording) band, commonly recognized as Prince & The Revolution. Noted for his unique, funk-based style of musicianship, he became a music producer and recording artist himself after parting company with Prince in 1986, scoring minor successes in the rhythm and blues music field under both titles (most notably as founder and producer of R&B group Mazarati). After a lengthy absence from the music business, he is currently recording once again as a member of Cryptic, a music group based in Minneapolis, MN. An R&B CD credited to Cryptic, It's Been Awhile, was released by the group in 2002. Read more on Last.fm.
