In 1998, he returned to Brazil. In this same year Celso was awarded a scholarship from the Brazilian institution 'CAPES' and returned to MI to finish his studies. This time, he studied Jazz improvisation with Carl Shroeder and Joe Elliot. In 1999 Celso received the outstanding music award at MI. He joined LA's blues band Green Lizards (with harp player Darryl Carriere), playing in many Clubs in Los Angeles area.
