Northampton-born singer-songwriter Charlotte Carpenter is a rising songstress, gravitating more readily towards blues and mixing Laura Marling’s breathless insight with Daughter’s ambient indie. Having three previously self-released EP’s under her belt, her most recent ‘Whole’ EP climbing to No.10 in the iTunes singer/songwriter Charts, followed with a recent download-only track ‘Siren Song’ which received a spin on Lauren Laverne’s 6Music show, it is clear Charlotte is much more than the sum of her influences. Honing her stagecraft alongside fellow contemporary troubadours such as Marika Hackman, Ethan Johns, George Ezra and Annie Eve, Charlotte’s spectral sound and live shows have won her considerable acclaim and support from the likes of national indie publications Brum Notes and For Folk’s Sake, as well as glowing recognition from BBC Introducing. Charlotte has recently released her fourth EP Take It All. Imbued with a more abrasive, rockier vibe than her older material, her latest record will look to demonstrate exactly why she will ‘soon be anointed alt’s newest darling.’ Read more on Last.fm.
