There are at least two artists using this name 1) COTD were formed in 2005 after mutual respect between a group of rappers, beatmakers and cool motherlovers developed into a serious music making outfit. The group came about via meeting at hiphop events in London and via the infamous Deal Real cypher sessions. Several blaze sessions later and visits back and forth between Liverpool, Blackburn and London turned it into what it is today. It is essentially the coming together of two groups, a northern half which is comprised of underground heavyweights Salar (Wirral, Merseyside) and Lee Scott (Runcorn) of Antiheroes fame, Scouse hiphop legend T.L aka Tony Broke (Liverpool), Bill Shakes (Blackburn) and King Grubb (Accrington/Ostwaldtwistle). The London half consists of childhood cohorts Monster Under The Bed, Dilner The Lost Kid aka Sly Moon, Barebase and Dutch Master J. LIPA music business graduate Alex Jennings is part of the Blah Records* management and producer/sound engineer Reklews completes the Blah family. In November 2007 their debut release and also their first album entitled 'Tourettes Camp' was launched in CD format independantly under the collective name of Blah Records (more of a movement and ideology that binds independant artists together and provides a platform to be heard as opposed to an actual record label) and achieved alot in terms of recognition in the industry and critical acclaim. It established the group as a force in underground hiphop and cemented their place in the scene with their name on the lips of every credible hiphop fan in the UK and many fans from the US to Europe and Australia and peers alike. The style of the first album is often a dark and eerie, hardcore listening experience but with a clear comedy element to it which was something fresh for uk hiphop and unlike traditional underground 'dark battle rap'. With an arsenal of quotable lyrics and flows only elite rappers could think of over some disgusting beats this was one for the true hiphop fans. Their second album 'Brick Pelican' was released early 2009 again on CD format. For this venture, a more funkier and upbeat approach was taken beat-wise. The album has an old school feel to it throughout and is an enjoyable listen from start to finish thanks to the beats and charismatic emcees dropping consistently high-grade lyrics filled with personality and character. It further cemented their position as forerunners in the underground UK hiphop scene, earning props from legends such as Farma G of Taskforce who has vocalised such sentiments recently. Their latest release comes in the form of a limited edition hand-numbered 7" vinyl + Enhanced CD package and features Australian award winning hiphop legend Brad Strut of Lyrical Commision fame. The COTD trio of Monsta, Lee Scott and Salar team up with Brad Strut for the leading A side single 'Just Drink' to which the groups first music video was made. 2) Children of the Damned is also an Iron Maiden feturing Paul Di'Anno musicians and Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire).
