Chris Donlon and Mollie Hagar met while attending the University of Santa Cruz, CA in 2000. They were friends first and formed a band in 2001, with Chris as the principal songwriter / guitarist and Mollie on drums. Their friend Kate Mclean contributed backing vocals to The Palm Tree, released in January 2007, and officially joined the band soon after. The Palm Tree was called "one of the most interesting records of the year" by online magazine Cokemachineglow.com. Before The Palm Tree they recorded a hand-made CD-R titled (take to the skies) (2004). In 2008 they evolved into The Creepy Crawlies.
