Cornell Kinderknecht is an award-winning world flutes virtuoso whose instruments include Native American flute, bansuri, ocarina, whistle and recorder, among others. He is an Indian Summer Music Awards winner, has twice been a finalist for Musician of the Year at the Texas Music Awards, and is a Top 5 Winner in the Great American Song Contest instrumental category. His music can be heard in film, television series and advertising. In addition to his own recordings, Cornell's playing can be heard on numerous artists' CDs in multiple genres. Cornell's original compositions and playing have been described as soothing, soaring, haunting and playful with influences of Native America, the Middle East, India and the Far East. His style, which draws from his experience in world, Classical, folk and pop, brings a new and fresh flavor to the instrumental, new age and ambient genres. Cornell lives in the Dallas, Texas USA area. He grew up in Ellis, Kansas and as one in a large musical family, has been around music all his life. He holds a music performance degree from Kansas State University where he specialized in oboe and bassoon. From his work with early music performance practice and historic instruments, his interest in ethnic woodwind instruments from around the world began. Cornell has studied with some of the finest woodwind instructors from around the world. He blends the flavors and techniques from this rich background into his own unique style.
