Cosmic Spring brings electronic music with a real 'live' touch. They bring such an incredible mix of obscure grooves and positive dance vibes that you can hardly believe you're listening to a live band. With their vintage synths, obscure SFX, full throttle basses, pounding beats, and hypnotic guitar repetitions, they take you on a musical journey to discover unknown frequencies in the Universe of Sounds. Get in, lift-off and space out! From the Cosmic Spring Space Centre in Groningen (the Netherlands) five researchers work hard on a project that will change the course of history; they're mapping the Universe of Sound. With oscilloscopes, analogue filters, cut-off frequencies and their Teslatron, the Cosmic Explorer team travels to the most distant corners of the Cosmos, researching the sizzles of gas clouds, the swishing of cosmic dust lanes, the humming of constellations, the hauler of exotic planets, and the twinkling of newborn stars. Their epic studies will lead to a piece of resistance; the reconstruction of the voice of the universe. The team is making one giant leap in progress. The synth researcher, sequencer explorer, string navigator, rhythm officer and groove engineer publish their outcomes regularly on the web. During live performances they spread their knowledge of contemporary sound design. In spectacular live shows, vintage and state-of-the-art electronics are combined with (string)instruments like guitar, bass, sitar, mandolin and mouth harp. The interaction between the musicians on stage creates a startling mix of dynamics, warm harmonies, and dazzling twists, all based on very danceable grooves. Every performance is unique. The starting point is well-known, but the paths that emerge are yet unknown. Cosmic Spring invites you to hop aboard and to travel into the world of nods, grunts, bleeps, leds, obscure SFX and filtered frequencies. Read more on Last.fm.
