Daniel Jacques (aka Crudo) grew up in South-Ede, Netherlands. He was surrounded by music from a very early age and started producing hip hop music in the late 90’s with a second hand sampler: the Akai MPC 2000XL. Around 1999 the soulful side of Techno attracted Daniel’s interest and steered his production style towards Detroit styled Techno music. After a strong string of dance floor friendly releases on various “Techno” labels like Ingoma (run by Ben Sims (U.K.)), Superba, SLS (run by Samuel L. Session (Sweden)), Stimulus Recordings (run by Paul Mac (U.K.)), Real Sessions (run by Mark Williams (U.K.)), Daniel Jacques forged his sound ahead separating him from the pack. He sent out demos of his new and funkier sound to many Detroit based labels being rejected for years until he was finally recognized by DJ Bone from Detroit and invited to do the Subject Holland project on Subject Detroit Records under his new alias: Crudo.
