La Horde La Horde is an allegory of darkness and light. An epic, human quest. A long poem that ponders the eternal question of transcendence. A collective quest with the desire to be followed to its end, illustrating the paradoxes of this abstract world of music where adventure and poetry, suffering and illusions, unguarded combat and the pursuit of a sense of life have but one purpose: a self- questioning that leads to the unknown. www.davidenhco.com David Enhco At 26, David Enhco belongs to a generation of young musicians whose music and energy touch us deeply. Drawing on many influences, the music of this trumpet virtuoso and composer is not only listened to, it is felt and it speaks to us. His next album, The Horde, will be released by Crystal Records in February 2013. Three exceptional musicians, Roberto Negro (piano), Florent Nisse (bass) and Gautier Garrigue (drums) join him in producing a complex, profound sound that exudes fantastic energy. David Enhco has also been involved in many original music projects: In June 2012, commissioned by the Jazz à Vienne festival, he performed with Bastien Ballaz, Jon Boutellier and Frederic Nardin and The Amazing Keystone Big Band in a jazz adaptation of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf that delighted 6,000 children and introduced them to jazz improvisation, instruments and genres. Thrilled by the initiative, Chant du Monde and Harmonia Mundi decided to produce a CD and book of the show, to be released in September 2013. In July 2012, he gave a series of concerts at the Festival de Radio France de Montpellier, playing in duo with his brother, Thomas Enhco, and also recorded a soundtrack for Sarah Moon. In August 2012, he formed a septet with singer Cécile McLorin Salvant (first prize at the prestigious Thelonious Monk Competition) for a series of concerts at the Opéra de Lyon and in Paris. He also performed in various festivals with his own quartet, played live on Radio France and was awarded first prize at the Jazz à Montauban competition. In 2011, he performed with Marie-Claude Pietragalla in a new creation, The Green Devils, a show combining jazz, electro, hip hop, dance and poetry inspired by Louis Aragon’s poem, La Nuit des Jeunes Gens. In 2010 and 2011, he played in an original musical theater production directed by Alain Sachs, Le Jazz et la Diva Opus 2 (over 200 performances and more than 100,000 spectators). In the winter of 2011, he toured internationally for one month with Caroline Casadesus and Thomas Enhco in the Trio Casadesus-Enhco, playing works that stand at the crossroads of classical music and jazz. In 2011 and 2012, he toured with Didier Lockwood, performing in an acoustic trio as well as the Didier Lockwood and the Jazz Angels quintet. Trained in both classical (with Pascal Clarhaut, soloist at the Opéra de Paris) and jazz (Didier Lockwood Music Center) styles, David Enhco has been invited to play worldwide in various configurations ranging from duos to big band ensembles. Countries he has recently performed in include the United States, Japan, China, Morocco, Cambodia, the Philippines, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Algeria, Belgium, Romania, Spain, Portugal, Burkina Faso, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Israel. He has played alongside artists such as Mike Stern, Johnny Griffin, Toots Thielemans, Biréli Lagrène, Martin Taylor, Marie-Claude Pietragalla, Liz McComb, Rhoda Scott, Billy Cobham, Sylvain Luc, Didier Lockwood, Caroline Casadesus, Michel Hausser, Maurane… In David Enhco’s approach to music, virtuosity is never an end in itself but serves only to unleash musicality and emotion. David Enhco is appearing in concerts with the following formations:
 - David Enhco Quartet (with Roberto Negro, piano, Florent Nisse, bass and Nicolas Charlier, drums)
 - Duo Enhco Brothers (with Thomas Enhco) - Trio Casadesus-Enhco (with Caroline Casadesus, classical singer and Thomas Enhco) - The Amazing Keystone Big-band Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
