Don Martin Three was from St. Augustine, FL. They were alive from '93ish to '96ish. Colin played the guitar and sang, Brian played the bass and Dave the drums. http://www.myspace.com/donmartinthree --- Releases: 1994: Self-Titled 7" (Oberon Records - the band's own label, Oberon #001, 300 made) A1: Katahdn B1: Inneficient Engine 1995: Moonraker/Hope Springs Eternal/Don Martin three Split 7" (Kurt & Jason (Belladona), Kurt & Jason #001, 507 made for the first press, 300 for the repress) A1: White Christmas - Moonraker A2: Drone - Hope Springs Eternal B1: Transistor - Don Martin three 1996: Self-Titled 12" (Self-Released, DMT #001, most of them were hand-stamped, some had a sticker instead, 500 made - Was co-released with/distributed by Kurt & Jason/Belladona Records) A1: Untitled A2: Untitled A3: Untitled B1: Untitled B2: Untitled * It's rumored that Colin recorded his vocals for the LP as a bit of a joke, poking fun at the more contrived "singing" of emo bands at the time (comparisons have been made between the LP and 7"). It was also rumored that Jason Teisinger (of Palatka/Belladonna records) planned to re-release the LP remixed with the corrected vocals, but this dispelled by Jason himself. Another rumor says that the flaws in the LPs were a mistake made by the pressing plant, but the band didn't mind (probably getting a deal on mis-pressed lps) and decided to keep them anyway. Another theory is that it was on purpose - the popping and crackling was supposed to make it more like the repercussion and emo stuff they were mocking. rumors... Unreleased: 4-Track recording of the LP. The song "Orchestra", not sure when it was recorded. Live recordings of at least two unreleased songs. --- Post-Don Martin Three: Colin & Brian, along w/ Will (the drummer of Hope Springs Eternal) and James (who used to run Fuse records in St. Augustine) eventually all converged in Baltimore and formed Wilderness sometime around 2003. Some other members went to play in Reactionary 3. Don Martin Three is known for the rarity of their records, which were produced in very limited quantities. There are no plans for a release of a discography, and probably never will be. Read more on Last.fm.
