Continuous air play and years of touring with national recording artist, Fattburger, have made Evan Marks one of southern California’s most sought after guitarist’s. After a brief stint backing up groups like The Platters, and The Drifters, Marks toured with legendary jazz vocalist Billy Eckstine. The ensemble appeared throughout Japan, and on NHK TV along with The Tokyo Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. He embarked on a solo career in 1994 when he was signed to Verve Records. His first solo release entitled Long Way Home came out in 1995 and had considerable radio success throughout the country. His 1998 release entitled Three Day Weekend included a top 5 single entitled Coast to Coast. His 1999 release entitled Heartbeat; Rhythm of the Infinite was a big hit with new age and yoga listeners. Marks has been the featured guitarist on seven CD’s with the jazz group Fattburger. The group regularly performs concerts and has their music on radio stations throughout the country. Marks recently produced and performed on flutist Hubert Laws new CD entitled Moondance. Marks compositions feature Herbie Hancock on piano, Chris Botti on trumpet and Brian Culbertson on keys. Marks has performed and recorded with jazz superstars Jeff Lorber, Keiko Matsui, Will Lee, Richard Elliot, Rick Braun, Chuck Loeb, and Art Porter. Within the last few years Marks has honed his production skills and produced projects for American Airlines, Sunrider Health Products, Pitney Bowes, and NCR Corp. In addition, Marks guitar has been heard on commercials for Ford, Nissan, NBC, CBS, PBS, Disney, Barona Casino and San Diego Union Tribune. Read more on Last.fm.
