www.fannyalexander.net The galician band Fanny + Alexander are back with their third album, Alfaias, released once more under a copyleft license. Ten new tracks where the duo tries to touch every single corner of todays polyhedral indie music, ranging from the electronic pop of tunes like Setecentos and Espida de credo to the more acoustic and classical pop of songs like Tardes de domingo and Na febre dos incendios, all with the band's usual experimental atittude and continued willingness to enter styles yet unreleased in Galician language with a strong vocation to take galician indie music to the sound of the XXI century. BIO Fanny + Alexander is a two-piece indietronica act from Galiza. Their music is a mixture between pop, electronic, hip-hop, experimental, new wave and galician folk. Their music is sung in galego, national language of their galician homeland and very similar to portuguese. Their music can be described as Pop, electro Pop, maybe indietronica, but they don't forget their roots, and traditional Galician music samples are tastefully added to the programmed layers of sound. Portuguese exported the word "Saudade" (solitude), Galicians exported "Morriña" (homesickness). Does a language define a culture and the individuals personality? vice versa? Whatever the answer, Fanny + Alexander fit in the Galician cliché of Melancholy.
