Fundi Konde, said to be the first electric guitarist from Kenya, became one of the most popular musicians in East Africa during the post-war, pre-independence period. Although he retired in 1963, he later returned to music and collaborated with His career lasted fifty years, from the 1950s to the 1990s (when he collaborated with Shikamoo Jazz).
