Hlynur Gudjonsson was born in Iceland but his family moved to Germany quite early. He grew up in a little village near Osnabrueck, Lower-Saxony. Before he went solo he used to play with a lot people in different bands. From duo to septet he tried to find a way in all imaginable formations. With Haruko he founded the band The Gudjonssons which was around for almost two years. Just before recording their debut record Haruko and Hlynur decided to call it a day and go on as solo artists. After a strictly limited self-produced EP in 2007 which was sold out really quick. His latest record Live at Folk Art Now is out on Gold and Silver Recordings since December 2008.
