Horsell Common were an Australian band from Melbourne, Victoria that was formed in 2001. They made their live debut in early 2002, following this up with a string of EPs, and released their first full-length album The Rescue on 29 September 2007. The first single off the album - titled "Good From Afar" - was released on 1 September 2007 and received national airplay on the triple j radio station. Their drummer Leigh Pengelly announced his departure in early 2008, and the band commenced their final tour with him, "The Rescue" album tour. After this tour, the band then toured for their "Sing the News" single with a replacement drummer, being unsuccessful in finding a new one. The band disappeared soon after this tour, leaving many fans to believe they had broken up in 2009. This was confirmed with the appearance of lead singer Mark Stewart's solo project 'Jonesez'. The band resurfaced in early 2010 to complete a run of final shows. RIP. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
