Ian was born and brought up in Suffolk where he learnt much of his early material from singers like Phoebe Smith, the Ling family and Percy Webb. He left for Poland and now lives in Oxford, where he continues to vent his spleen, sing and write songs mostly on Wednesday and Sunday nights in The Half Moon. He currently works with Ian Giles and Graham Metcalfe in the acapella trio GMW. He is the author of many songs, including One More Pull and Hooks and Nets. He also recorded a CD with polish shanties band Cztery Refy. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
