Ivan-I & Jason Howell

Ever since Ivan (aka DuB TheorY) was buying his first mixed cassette tapes by Bay Area dj's like Doc Martin, Garth, Jeno, Tony and DJ Dan, it was apparent that the rhythms of San Frans Dj's are what moved his blood. This love never faded as it became a forward movement with djing and producing a very narrow range of house influenced music including deep house, tribal, and dub reggae to create a more organic sound. Ivan has been Dj'ing on a professional level in San Francisco since 1994 and began touring out of town a few years later with a booking in Seattle that began an infectious wave of gigs that landed him in major cities across the United States, Canada and Brazil. Ivan is also the cofounder of Jah Love Recordings and produces many of the projects released on the label. His productions gave him a name to the rest of the world and upgraded his status to DJ/Producer in 2000. Ivan helped to pioneer the 'dub house' style of production as the sound started to catch on as many well-respected producers followed in his footsteps. Recently continuing to innovate, Ivan has partnered up with Jason Howell (aka Raygun) who’s own deep sensibilities are marked by tech-fused house beats and layers of atmospheric keys. Jason holds a degree in Audio Production, and has multiple releases on Night Drive Music and Zer0-G Sounds. With this background, Jason helps to bring a unique edge to the dub house genre. Together, Ivan and Jason produce quality tracks that push the distinct elements of dub into house music. These two determined Bay Area dub house producers have created a unique sound with a deep soulful vibe and a preference for heavy sub-bass lines, deep keyboards and chunky rhythms, all while going so dub that only a dread can test it!
