Vermont resident Jim Gilmour began writing songs in earnest in 1998. After twenty years of supporting other artists as producer, recording/live sound engineer, and side musician Jim finally recorded a solo CD in 2003. His lyrics, sometimes veiled, sometimes chillingly frank are composed from the everyday subjects of life; the temptations of addiction, love and love lost, and the power of connection, all while celebrating the mystery of life. "He sounds like a cross between Peter Mulvey and David Crosby. Having been a bass player for most of his life, his guitar playing is heavily in the groove." -- David R. Miller & Orange Cat Recordings In addition to his solo career Jim continues to produce and engineer CDs for independent artists. He is also a bassist and backing vocalist for many performing acts on the road and in the studio. Jim Gilmour contributed a track on the benefit CD "TOO MANY YEARS: A Benefit for Clear Path International". Clear Path International works to assist victims of accidents involving explosive remnants of war in Vietnam. Read more on Last.fm.
