Swedish pop quintet Join The Riot was brought together because of their shared love for pop and rock music. The sound has been described by bloggers throughout the world as infectious, melodic indie with a sunny and dreamy vibe. Emerging from different corners of Stockholm, Sweden, the mixed souls of Henrik Ljungqvist (vocals), Jonas Engdahl (bass), André Sund (guitar) and Simon Santunione (drums) met in school and started the band in 2013. Join The Riot became a thing on the Swedish indie scene right from the start when the first singles Ménage à Trois, Queen Marmalade, Karotte and Louis were picked up on national radio and met by words of encouragement from different bloggs around the world. In 2014, the band landed “Wow”, a track from their first EP Buckle Up, on the Scandinavian Volkswagen commercial. Patrik Berg-Almkvisth (keys) joined in 2015 when the band went on their first tour to China. That same year the band engaged in a somewhat unorthodox recording project, which took place in a public display window attached to hotel Scandic Malmen on the busiest street corner of Stockholm. After one month of hard work recording, their debut album A Glass Cage Of Emotions was completed in July and released in December 2015. In December 2016, Join The Riot’s second tour to China became the starting point of finishing their upcoming album Jing Jin Ji. First single out, Pretenders, was released in of June 2017 and will be followed by Echo EP in January 2018. Read more on Last.fm.
