Journeyman (Ian Vilarelle) and BARRcode (Adrian Barr) joined forces to DJ and produce together back in 2004 after organising and djing with friends at a small club night in London, but lets rewind a few frames... Journeyman started DJ'ing back in 1990 and partied through the "hardcore u know da score" days, His interest in production came about around the mid 90s and it was in 98 that he finally took the plunge and invested in his own studio. BARRcode spent most of his rave days on the dancefloor but always had an interest in taking his ideas into the studio as well as messing about with decks, so in 2004 a date was set and their first tune "time 2 unite" was produced and later released on Born Idle records but not before it was snapped up by the Freestylers and featured as an exclusive track on Fabriclive19 to add to this it also received an awesome remix from CTRL Z. Continuing there collaboration they have had a further two releases on Born idle and recently a release on the all new Australian Label HO-JU Records, all of which have been well received by the critics earning excellent ratings and reviews in both DJ magazine and specialist breakbeat publications as well as DJ support from the likes of The Freestylers, Tayo, Plump DJs, Annie Nightingale, Orbital, Aquasky, Drummattic Twins, The Breakfastaz, Mechanoise and Napt which gives a good insight into the diversity of the music they produce. As well as producing they also have a regular Friday session on the award winning NSB radio with their Under the influence show. DJ'ing together they describe their style as an up lifting, hands in the air no, holds barred experience which they have unleashed at such nights as Eargasm @ Fabric (London) after being asked to play by no other than the Plump Djs. Over the years they have played top venues in the UK such as Ministry of sound, Turnmills, The Marquee and The Rocket to name but a few and have also enjoyed various excursions to cities around Europe and beyond, even headlining at the Shambahala Festival in Canada alongside some of the biggest names in breaks. So whether its an intimate small club atmosphere or the large festival vibe these guys just love to rock. Asked what makes them do what they do they said "we enjoy every minute and to see people loving the music makes us just want to keep on rockin' 24/7", "and that's what we're going to do" Read more on Last.fm.
