J~Squad is a brazilian band focused on playing J-pop music. The band was born in 2005, in São Paulo, and the original lineup was composed by 7 members. Since almost every member was japanese related - except for the vocalist Edu - the band proposed to play anime (japan animation) openings and ending themes. Since their live debut in the brazilian largest anime event circuit "Anime Friends", in the same year, J~Squad started to spread it's name all over the otaku community nationwide. In 2007, the band members were reduced to the following remaining 6: Eduardo Costa (Edu) - vocals and keyboards Verônica Huang (Skuld) - vocals Kenji Kihara (Kenjha) - bass Marcelo Basso - guitar Cesar Hirasaki - guitar Felipe Hirasaki - drums In 2007, J~Squad also released their first independent single called "Beyond" and in the next year, the second one, intitled "Scarlet Fades", both written in japanese language. Nowadays, the band has performed with several Japan's "tokusatsu" artists such as Akira Kushida, Takayuki Miyauchi and Hideaki Takatori during their live shows in Brazil. Read more on Last.fm.
