MONAURAL CURVE is an indie goth rock trio from Japan, bringing a beautiful and haunting sound. MONAURAL CURVE was formed as hanon/no wave in 2001 and changed their name to MONAURAL CURVE in december 2002, to coincide with the release of their album Wave Motion Escapes rev.1. Shortly after the release of WAVE MOTION ESCAPES TRIANGLE keyboardist yuu left the band for unknown reasons. Guitarist zull had been appearing as a guest musician on both wave motion escapes rev.1 and WAVE MOTION ESCAPES TRIANGLE, but it wasn't until yuu left he was invited to join as a full member and shortly after they also recruited bassist tock, and they had their first live with this new lineup on 2003.08.01 at 本八幡Route14. By this time the band had shifted from the original darkwave sound to a more gothic rock sound, which would become their style for all aftercoming releases. After a few years of touring and recording they came to a halt after 2005, and since 2006 they've had only very sporadic live activity, latest for one show in 2010.
