Much in the vein of many other popular Chicago electronic bands, MOO plays a fast and furious brand of industrial/techno rock. A part of the post-Wax Traxx scene, they often play with (and are compared to) the likes of Acumen Nation, Kill Hannah, Sister Machine Gun, 16 Volt, Sister Soleil, and I guess Ministry. MOO was started in 1991 by Michael Tapson. Originally founded in 1991 in DeKalb, IL (at Northern Illinois University), MOO includes band members George Povich, Derek Geisser, Michael Tapson, Luke Smith, and Joshua Langfield. Besides the powerful music, MOO provides an exciting live show as well; Povich, an amateur gymnast, is know to bounce and flip on stage with his flailing guitar in a performance that would make most Olympic performances look tame in comparison. Their debut CD is titled System. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
