Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson struck up a friendship in the early 80s when Mercury lived in New York for a period of time. During the recording of Jackson’s seminal Thriller album in 1983, the two wrote and recorded several songs together; but sadly, they only ever reached demo stage and were never finished or released. Regarding the fact that the tracks did not make it on to the Thriller album, Mercury reportedly joked, ‘Think of the royalties I missed out on!’ Jackson and Mercury fans alike remain hopeful that the tracks will one day see the light of day.
