Changes, turns and crossroads. The path of Miosis has not been a straight one, but the glowing light in the tunnel has always kept the collective moving in one common direction. That light has been belief in the music, the will of expression, the drive of creativity and the pride of the product, the art, or whatever. The goal is and has always been, some sort of success and a chance to live as musicians. The desire to buy time, peace of mind, money and energy enough to quit, or at least cut down, on other work-like activities... Down hills (or ups) The album, Albedo adaptation (Lion music, 2009) has been treated very well by listeners, writers and reviewers, and except for a few flaws in the production, the band feel content with the result. There are (and have always been) tons of ideas, both lyrical and musical, to sink our creative teeth into and chew into shape. Up hills (or downs) There have been many changes of members in Miosis, back and forth, which obviously have created a wear in the machinery. The interference, and sometimes the bad timing of events in the individuals„ lives, has also lead to setbacks. Also, not being collectively in agreement in matters of priorities, structure, devotion as well as administrative and organisational issues. Who does what and in what way? Here lie many conflicts; here lie many challenges. Here lie, hopefully, a lot of creative solutions. The present (as of September 1st, 2009) The members of Miosis are vocalist Erik Skoglund, bassist Mikael Mangs Edwardsson, drummer Mattias Axelsson and guitarists Henrik von Harten and Fabian Ericson. Fabian, who together with Mattias was the founder of the project, has just re-joined the band. Erik has also left and come back since the album was released. Focus lies now on creating new music, and working out the ways in how the machinery of Miosis will function in the future. Beyond the ridge Picture yourself on a dark road. Up ahead, a distant light closes in. Soon near enough to blind you, to make your pupils constrict. Open your eyes. Open your ears. Open your mind. Let us in. Read more on Last.fm.
