Monkey jacket is an unsigned, ska-influenced rock/punk band from the Detroit area whose catchy beats, clever lyrics, and smart, genre-bending songwriting continue to attract large audiences in the Michigan scene and around the country. Eventually, the band had a flux of members when the bass, trumpet, and second guitar player walked away from the band. They found a new bass player and moved on. After a while this new version of Monkey Jacket recorded a new full length CD titled "Four Twenty Three." Shortly after opening a show for Streetlight Manifesto, Tip the Van, and Reel Big Fish, the drummer and bass player called it quits. Monkey Jacket is on indefinite hiatus until Mick, the front-man finds motivation to put a new band together. Read more on Last.fm.
