Nozzle offer a hard-edged blend of anthemic rock and melodic British pop music. Their music has been described by the music press as “a lush combination of rock guitars with a dynamic rhythm section, melodic vocals and moody atmospheres”. Nozzle, who are based in Devon, were originally formed in 1995 by singer, guitarist and songwriter Dave Blomberg and consists of Dave on guitar & vocals, Leigh Winsor on bass guitar and Joe Breban on drums. Nozzle released their third album Empires on 12th May 2008. In keeping with the band’s DIY ethic, Empires, which is without doubt their most adventurous album to date, was recorded, engineered and mixed entirely by themselves. It captures the live energy and feel of the three-piece rock band and features some carefully constructed and well crafted songs. Nozzle's debut album Winter (2001) received very favourable reviews in such respected European Magazines as Metal Hammer, Zillo and Orkus. Winter was again recorded, engineered and mixed by the band at their own studio. As was Nozzle’s second album Twisted Vision which was released in September 2004 on Attack Attack Records. In September 2005, Nozzle were signed by Jack Holzman (the man who signed the Doors and Queen) to Warner Music’s label Cordless Recordings in the US. They released two E.Ps, the Mystery E.P and the Let Me Down E.P. and were invited to New York to perform an acoustic set at the Cordless launch. Whilst with Cordless, Nozzle were approached by US film company Post Central Productions for the rights to use one of Nozzle’s songs as part of the soundtrack for an independent feature film called “Cherry Crush”. The film producer had been scouring the Internet in search of the perfect song to close his film with and discovered Nozzle’s dark and melodically haunting song “Fatal Beauty” on the band’s myspace page. Since forming Nozzle have continued to tour Europe, appearing at festivals in Germany, Italy and on the main stage at the Beautiful Days festival in Devon. In December 2006, Nozzle opened for the band New Model Army at their Christmas show at a packed out Astoria in London. In September 2007, Nozzle were approached to record some acoustic versions of their songs for a BBC Radio Devon session which was broadcast by DJ Vic Morgan. The band are currently planning some concert dates in the U.K and Europe to coincide with the release of their new album. For more information please visit the Nozzle website at www.nozzle.org.uk.
