¡Patchanka! from Danish capital Copenhagen believes in spreading joy about through music; at the same time they dispute the right wing values that have spread like an icy wind throughout Europe. They don't point their fingers. The music does most of the talking with its festive attitude, seductive rhythms and clever changes of pace. The spectacular energy they cook up in their medley of musicality grows on anybody. ¡Patchanka! undertakes journeys into various musical universes and has ska, punk, balkan as well as laidback reggae as their fountains of inspiration. Luckily ¡Patchanka! will not let us sleep – it's time to wake up and smell the coffee blend of crooked power balance on a square planet. ¡Patchanka!'s five provocateurs Nicola, Alexander, Anders, Kisku, and Jon have roots that stretch as far as Spain, Italy, and India. The result is English ly rics naturally flavoured with a touch of Spanish and combined with an exotic sound, which is very characteristic of ¡Patchanka! On stage ¡Patchanka! rocks: Dancing till dawn, groovy atmosphere and constant intimacy between crowd and band. ¡Patchanka! has played several concerts across Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Greece and Czech Republic – at festivals, protest shows, take your pick. So far the band has made one full length album; "Set things in motion..." and has been part of several compilation cd's. Most recent "Esperanzaharaui" produced in Spain and donating money to refugees in Western Sahara, Africa. In October 2007 the bands main musical influence - Manu Chao/Radio Bemba Sound System - Asked ¡Patchanka! if they would do a warm-up at the show in Copenhagen. ¡Patchanka! played in front of 5000 people and only few days later the two bands played together again - this time supporting the local squat movement and the famous squat; Ungdomshuset. It was a legendary concert wirh almost 10.000 attending. ¡Patchanka! shout out and invite you to join them on the musical-political journey, which their music represents. Do n't miss out on this vital fix of life! Peace! ¡Patchanka! is: Nicola - Guitar, lead vocals Kisku - Keys, organ, percussion, accordion Anders - Guitar, vocals Jon - Bass, vocals Alexander - Drums, vocals Records Set things in motion (2006 - Album) Main contributions EsperanSaharaui (2007 - Compilation) Read more on Last.fm.
