Self-styled progenitors of the underground ‘abattoir disco’ movement, DJs Allen Spuchner and Ralph Pluchard began Plush Concept as an iffy working title for their haunting, glitch-laden - though woefully self-indulgent - ‘sound paintings’. Bored by the ambient monotony Spuchner & Pluchard daubed these aural landscapes with cut-up crunky beats and have since moved increasingly towards a contemporary collage of noise that neatly combines their key influences: Dadaism, Fluxus and the early 90s UK dance pioneers.
