Ralph Fiennes (full name, Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes) was born 22 December 1962 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. He is the son of Mark Fiennes, a farmer and published photographer and novelist/painter Jini Fiennes (pen name, Jennifer Lash). He is the oldest of six children. His brothers and sisters are: Martha (film director), Magnus (musician and composer), Sophie (film producer), Jacob (a conservationist) and Joseph (actor). Mr. Fiennes also has an older foster brother, Michael Emery, who is an archaeologist. From early on, Mr. Fiennes was influenced by recordings of works by Shakespeare performed by artists such as Sir Laurence Olivier. Stage influences have included the great actor, Paul Scofield. Mr. Fiennes attended the Chelsea School of Art before deciding to become an actor. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. He began his career at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park and, also during the late 1980s, the National Theatre before becoming a star in the Royal Shakespeare Company. This has been followed by an amazing career on stage and screen as well as audio recordings. His body of work is as follows....
