[2006] Rob Mooney is currently one of a new, young hot breed of fresh, talented dj’s and producers, rising in the UK. Since his first break in 2000, Rob’s career has gone from strength to strength. In addition to recognition as a bright new dj, his catalogue of production is fast pushing him through the ranks among the scene within the UK. Over the past few years Rob has played all over the UK as well as regular trips to Poland, Austria, Lithuania and Ireland. Not to mention his debuts at the Hi-Fi festival, Ministry Of Sound, The Key, Turnmills and last years Godskitchen Global Gathering. Mooney has also been one of the Punchfunk residents for the past few years and has found himself on the same line ups as Fergie, King Unique, Gregor Tresher, Paolo Mojo, Annie Mac and Paul Woolford on a regular basis. Rob is also hot on the production side of things, with a number of tracks and remixes signed to labels including Renaissance, Substance, Punchfunk, ELP, Distreakt, Mode and Kill-A-Watt. Not to mentioned turning in remixes for James Zabiela and The Trophy Twins. Rob’s biggest track to date has been Feelin’ Electro, after spending a few weeks at the top of the Beatport chart it also managed to get its way onto compilations from Cream and Renaissance as well as countless plays on BBC Radio 1. Rob’s unique style of music has gained him continued support all around the world from some of the biggest dj’s in the business such as John Digweed, Carl Cox, James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, Anthony Pappa, Fergie, Lee Burridge and Tom Stephan plus many more there will be a lot more to come. This year Rob also found a friend in the form of Carl Cox with him supporting Rob’s latest offering ‘Jo Jo Dancer’ (signed to the ever growing Punchfunk label) all through the Ibiza season and also including it on his forthcoming live recorded compilation ‘Ultimate Coxy’. Forthcoming in 2007, Rob's latest venture Bass for Breakfast Recordings will set home to a lot of Rob’s future productions along with a few guest appearances from people like Jeff Bennett, Kriece Bobby Lorenz, Kriece, Phatjak, Jeff Bennett, Dave Robertson and Jon Gurd. Also this year will see Rob start his new Proton Radio show, aptly named ‘Bass For Breakfast’. With bookings coming in from club nights and festivals across the country plus other various dates in Europe, you can be sure Rob Mooney will be a name associated with the influx of future talent this country is bringing to dance music.
