Sleeping Pictures consists of Marc Blackie and Gary Parsons, who met whilst both living in South London in the mid-ninties. The band was first of all a more noisy/experimental affair, but thanks to chance meetings, concerts and collaborations the pair began a fitful affair with the neo-folk genre, which saw the release of their first album "Nether Edge", with contributions from Hunter Barr, John Murphy, Renee Rosen, Tony Wakeford and Matt Howden. This was followed with a session largely comprising of new material for French radio, but soon the band realised that they found the neo-folk genre too restricting and so these songs where largely scrapped in favor of a new direction, which can be heard on the soon to be released "Many Hands Should Throw Stones" album. Marc also works with Lloyd James of Naevus as Lark Blames and with his own solo project These Papercuts. Gary has played with Sol Invictus on a number of releases as well as in concert and also performs with Thor's Helmet and as a solo artist under the name of Kyper Belt. Read more on Last.fm.
