There are at least three artists/bands with the name Stanza. 1: Stanza (UK based Drum & Bass artist) 2: Stanza (US based hip hop artist) 3: Stanza (Spanish Rock Band) Stanza (1) is a Birmingham (UK) based Drum & Bass DJ and producer who started making a name for himself as a dj playing regularly in and around Bristol around 2005, having won numerous DJ competitions Stanza's profile as a DJ was and is still growing as a regular fixture all over the UK and beyond. Not just a DJ Stanza has been working hard in the studio creating a diverse range of Drum & Bass which has had support from many of the biggest club and radio DJ's in the Drum & Bass scene. Stanza's first release Requestion made it into IDJ' (International Disc Jockey) magazine's recommended tunes section: "Everyone loves a grass-roots success story, and young turntable whiz DJ Stanza is fast becoming the real deal. ‘Requestion’ – his first release since redirecting those nimble fingers towards the production studio – is a blissed-out nugget of elegant, upmarket funk, whose whispering keys and lilting orchestration purr happily atop hypnotic vocal edits and woozy slabs of warm bass. Watch this space… " - IDJ Stanza (2) is an American (College Park, GA) hip-hop artist who has been building a quiet following since his introduction in 2004. Growing up listening to music ranging from Soul, Gospel, and R&B, it wasn't until hearing Eightball & MJG's "Coming Out Hard" that Stanza would fall in love with hip-hop. While this influence led him to initially try his hand at production, he quickly discovered his talent for writing. Some of his first recordings were as a member of a group, but it wasn't until after going solo and then a chance meeting years later with his future partners that Stanza's music would be fully realized. After releasing his first project The Mixtape at the beginning of 2004, Stanza gained some noteriety with his song "Find A Way", which earned him independent radio spins and press coverage. The positive reception prompted him to form the label Marquee Rhythms with his partners, and to immediately begin work on his next project, No. 2, which was released in late 2004. This second project focused more on original compositions, subsequently silencing any prior criticisms, and further solidifying Stanza's reputation as an artist. After nearly two years of recording, 2006 saw the release of his official debut "Name This Album" which featured no guest appearances and was the subject of praise from artists and fans alike.
