Sylvi Ali has an eerie operatic voice that reminds one of Lisa Gerrard in swoops and depths. Her music is a dark and personal mixture of operatic arias, neo folk songs, and gothic ballads. Classically trained in piano, Sylvi began experimenting with ambient/industrial electronic music in the late '80's. In the mid "90's she began to focus on vocals and more structured song writing. Sylvi has composed soundtracks for dance, theatre and cinema, providing music and soundtracks for the films & theatre pieces of Finnish artist Antero Alli. Her music CDs include "Too Near the Ghosts", "Dream of the Blue Moth", "Under a Shipwrecked Moon" and "A Hundred Birds". Read more on Last.fm.
