Reshaping the face of Hip-Hop, TK N CASH continue to prove why they’re stars by inking a deal with Reckless Republic/Columbia Records and releasing their highly anticipated mixed tape “No Hand Outs” in the fourth quarter of 2014. The latest accomplishment of the duo was a culmination of a successful studio year which included working with 2 Chainz, August Alsina, Ty Dolla $ign, and many other heavy hitters. With skyrocketing demand for features, hooks and writing TK N CASH are carving out a unique space in the market, complete with thousands of screaming, video sharing, ticket buying, song downloading, sign making fans; all of which spell longevity! Watch any of their videos, or listen to any of their music, and it becomes clear why these Augusta, Georgia bred MCs are poised to take over the entertainment industry. The story of TK N CASH is one of two distinct, yet very similar paths that eventually met with one dream in mind. That was not only to become stars, but all around success stories. TK, born Tevin Thompson, is a naturally confident networker. His talent and drive collide to ensure he succeeds at what he sets his sights on. He won’t stop at anything short of platinum albums and a few Grammys. To his credit, TK has placements with Trey Songz, Meek Mill, Flo Rida, Kevin Gates, Juicy J, and many more. Cash, born Derrin Towsend, was learning the meaning of hard work while most young people were solely focused on middle school. Working on his dreams since the tender age of 12, he knows that the key to getting what he wants lies in determination. That willpower has fueled his fire to invade and occupy the industry at all cost. It was only a matter of time before TK met Cash performing around the Augusta area and realized their success lied in pairing up. They formed Banq Boi Entertainment and began creating music, and performing as TK N CASH. In 2008 they moved to Atlanta where they wasted no time making a name for themselves. After performing in a talent search at recording artist Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace, the two were quickly offered a deal with the record label. The duo signed to Chris Lighty’s Violator Management, a week before he died. The current generation of Hip-Hop has the challenging task of providing quality mass appeal music, while staying relatable to a core fan base, the good news for TK N CASH, the masses are their core fan base. Leading the way for artist that are both talented and theatrical, the pair are ushering in a new lifestyle movement in Hip Hop, one as concerned with what you have to say as they are how you say it. Taking note from legends before them, you can hear the influence of rap greats in their music, blending a traditional hip-hop approach with a little swag of their own. 2014 saw monumental gains from deals, to mixtapes and major label song writing credits, but the journey is far from over. TK explains “that each time we set and meet a goal for ourselves its not the end of one goal it’s the beginning of the next” and Cash sums it up as “music doesn’t take breaks and neither do we”.
