TRV$DJAM

TRV$DJAM was the mash-up collaboration project formed in Los Angeles, California, USA between drummer Travis Barker (+44, blink-182, Transplants, The Aquabats, Box Car Racer) and DJ AM (Crazy Town). DJ AM samples music and mixes it while Travis Barker drum covers. Their mixes cover a number of genres including hip-hop, punk rock, alternative rock, ska, pop and even country. “I wanted to do something that I hadn’t seen done either, like a full kit and a DJ – it was just a different approach, something fresh,” says Travis Barker. The duo released their first mixtape "FIX YOUR FACE" on their official website for free in 2008. “The music takes a direction of its own,” says AM. "We literally look at tempos or a few key songs we want to play, and that’s like the skeleton, and then we kind of dress it up with all kinds of clothes and a hat and the next thing you know it’s a whole crazy creature.” Their second release "FIX YOUR FACE VOL. 2 - COACHELLA '09" features their live performance at Coachella and was released via Twitter in May 2009. http://trvsdjam.com/ http://www.myspace.com/trvsdjam Read more on Last.fm.
