Tassilli Players

The Tassilli Players are a floating pool of musicians. Over the 13 years of collaboration a strong working relationship with producers Zion Train has been forged and any Tassilli Players excursion into version is going to be a trip worth taking. The first Tassilli Players release was a collaborative album with Zion Train 'Great Sporting Moments in Dub' and this was followed three years later by the seminal 'Wonderful World Of Weed in Dub' - a musical celebration of the world's varieties of weed of wisdom. The latest release 'World Atlas Of Dub' was preceded by the cosmically influenced 'Outer Space'. All these releases are on Universal Egg as are all of the Tassilli Players now deleted 12" singles. The Tassilli Players released Universal Egg's first ever download only album in 2006, their fifth long player 'The Ages Of The Earth In Dub', again produced by Zion Train and featuring deep, meditational sounds. The music is rooted in dub but commonly diversions are taken into the more experimental and diverse worlds that influence the Tassilli Players' musical worldview. From Jamaican ganja fields to Sowetan speakeasies via the harmonic overtones of Phil Niblock is just one of the routes that they may take on the journey to a finished recording.
