There is more than one recording artist that goes by the moniker "The Authors": [1] Montrealers, The Authors (buy it on iTunes) Having each been implicated in numerous musical endeavors over the years, Pierre-Olivier and Keven united in October 2005 in an effort to concentrate on a project that was different from what they had previously been involved in. Over the years, they invested a tremendous amount of their time recording their first album “Everything around me” and revealing themselves to the world. The Authors melodies quickly attracted attention in different areas of the world including: Montreal, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Iceland and France. Over the last few months, they have given many interviews on webradios, webzines, newspapers and television. [2] Austinites, The Authors (check them out at here) While The Authors may be easily described as "indie pop," there is more to their music than just that. Taking cues from early rock pioneers and many post punk bands of the late '70s and early '80s, along with dance music from house to afro-beat, they meld it all together into an angular rock style with a dance-worthy mix of strong bass lines, big chords, noise, and catchy melodies. In 2008, The Authors released their first EP, which is available for purchase on iTunes. In the fall of 2009, The Authors have decided to release two new singles to tide fans over until their debut album comes out in March 2010. "Battles" and "Feels Like Running" showcase the development of the band from their previous release. Read more on Last.fm.
