That was several years before The Beatles breakthrough that Cliff Richard and The Operation (Shadows), inspired and named Denmark's first guitar orchestra in 1960. Even years after overtook The Cliff's his idols on the domestic chart. Group started his career with a firm commitment to the Copenhagen dance temple KISBYES DANSEHAL in Kødbyen and later followed the legendary gaming VIRGIN OLIVE burette removed. Group differed from the earlier rock bands at the elegant stage appearance with the same white guitars, purple suits and laksko. This style is Cliff's retained 44 years after. It was here a talent from the record company Philips was the popular band and was immediately signed record deal. Recordings were made in Islev Bio (after biograftid) and theater toilet was used as echo-sphere. Debut disc "How Wonderfull To Know" immediately took first place at Radio Mercur chart then was Denmark's only radio list. Unfortunately it could only be heard by a limited audience on Zealand, so it was only when the group appeared on TV to the rest of the country became aware of the new idol orchestra. This is long before the TV town was built and television footage was then held in the basement floor of Radio House. Shortly after the release of the first sheet took the group lead singer Reimar Kristensen, who was from Odense, renamed Johnny Reimar. The first success came on board after the second but most were "Walk On By" and "Django". The latter was written by the group's legendary guitarist Mogens "Django" Petersen and Cliff's international breakthrough. Recording was released in 50 countries and sold still more than 40 years after Asia. In 1962 was The Cliff's offer of involvement in circus Revyen and short tours followed in Norway, Sweden and Finland. It was a tragic incident which should quit The Cliff's glorious career which only lasted ca.3 years. But The Cliff's progress to become Denmark's first idol orchestra and still remembered by a large faithful fanskare. At a concert in K.B. Hall in 1963 was lead singer, Johnny Reimar, such a serious impact on his guitar that he immediately ran to hospital with fractures of the spine. This resulted in a longer hospital stay and after that, dare Reimar no longer play on his electric guitar. Then he started his solo career while Cliff's, with varying lead singer continued a few years yet. This had put an end to a chapter of Danish rock-history. In 1987 we got in the Tivoli Open House Showing the idea to assemble the old gang again crowning glory and it was a week's massive success, where thousands had to go in vain to relive the nostalgic music of their youth. Demand was so great that the five original members decided to continue working for some time yet. It has provisionally been more than two decades. So nearly 10 times as long as the group had existed in tresserne.Specielt remembered Ferry Zealand, where The Cliff's was husorkester and played more than 1000 times. A few years ago the group decided to hold a "break". This is particularly to Johnny Reimar, who was now cult figure among young people, alone would draw away with his Tyrolerhat of Festivals and Discotheques. Unfortunately left Færgen Zealand also the Copenhagen City Scape but demand at The Cliff's was still there. It has been rock legends to vote the old fender guitars and the five musicians with Johnny Reimar the lead is again ready to take the country with their famous 60 `s repertoire. Cliff's has recently received the group's original basguitarrist, Lars Koefoed back. Lars was only 15 years since he helped establish Denmark's oldest guitar orchestra - The other original members are Ole Rasmussen at the keyboard, Jan Petersen, drums and of course Johnny Reimar vocals and rhythm guitar. As compensation for Mogens "Django" Pedersen who died some years ago, the group has been quite a young guitarist with Torben Brandstrup who began his career as president of Cliff's fan club.
