Imagine a journey. A journey that takes in the sights & sounds of places such as Sicily, Texas, Mexico, Buenos Aires, London, Dublin, Antanarive and Cape Town. The perfect soundtrack to that journey is the atmospheric debut of The Second Grace, now ready to be taken on the road. The Second Grace sound evolved from a singer-songwriter ethos but gives more than a passing nod to lo-fi influences with its acoustic foundations, slide guitars, freaky percussion, accordian and fragile cello tones. All the songs are written by Fabrizio Cammarata and his unique voice entices the listener to listen more closely. If you take the time to listen a few times you..ll hear something new in the detail every time. These tracks are sure to become part of your daily soundtrack, on the bus or in the car, in the crowded city or in the open country or simply to do what music does best; to take you to that other place. Musical neighbours of The Second Grace include Jeff Buckley, Turin Brakes, Calexico, Nick Drake and Devendra Banhart. With the latter they've made an impression and were thrilled to be asked onstage to perform a jam at Banhart's concert in Palermo. This vast array of influences and limitless inspiration combines to give us the band's musical pattern. Part of that colourful pattern no doubt comes from the colours and special atmosphere of their hometown Palermo which itself has absorbed many cultural influences over the course of time to give it its own unique style. The same is true for The Second Grace. Evolving from the initial homemade recordings of Fabrizio Cammarrata the songs have organically grown with new arrangements and input from each member of the band as a whole resulting in these 14 polished tracks. With the current band set-up, the songs were given a new lease of life, some were elaborated on and some were turned around 180 degrees. Attention to ideas, spontaneity and creativity has expressed itself in the four becoming one. The rich musical vocabulary of Fabio Rizzo (guitar), John Riggio (bass) and Fabio Finocchio (drums) is the stylistic key that holds together the musical chain of The Second Grace. The life of the band is not just about the music but sharing emotions and experiences together which in the end, is what gives life to their songs. After some months a final 14 of their creations were chosen, recorded and mixed at Sonoria Studios (Catania). Read more on Last.fm.
