Being abandoned is, as everyone knows, one of the worst things that can happen. Especially if you didn't even have a relationship with them in the first place! What remains are only the imagined memories of what migh have been. What should you do now to get over it and move on - write a song about the formerly deified? Nonsense! Best to rename a band after the unfortunately-not-girlfriend and keep her that way forever a part of you. Thus Elizabeth Ecker was forever immortalized in THE BETH EDGES. Youth is wasted on the young? Not at all! Based on their remarkable music and their live performances, you might just think that Tobi, Gabs, Dave and Flo from Linz have already played every major stage across the Atlantic and the English Channel. Being musicians is something the quartet is surprisingly quite casual about. In their own unpretentious words, "it's ideally all about making good songs, having a tight band, and the audience getting precisely what it wants to hear." Markedly influenced by the greater and better indie and guitar-rock wave bands playing on both sides of the Atlantic, THE BETH EDGES, with their distinctive combination of salacious disco beats, retro guitars and loose-fitting vocals, create catchy tunes of surprising depth. Admittedly they listened quite closely to bands like the Strokes, and took some elements from the hysterical danciness of some of the current British bands, but far from merely copying, THE BETH EDGES have melded them, and made it their own. Quite refreshingly so. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
