Born and raised in the Midwest, Tommy Held considers the creation of music essential to finding purpose and wisdom in life, and sharing those discoveries with others. Introduced to music at a young age, he mastered many instruments in his teens. His wealth of experience in all styles of music has resulted in an intelligent, pure, and down-to-earth indie rock sound, with leanings into alternative, acoustic-folk, and classic guitar-driven rock. Inspired by such varied influences, Tommy Held is committed to sharing his original musical stories with independent music lovers around the world. A multi-tasking jack-of-all-trades, Tommy Held has made a name for himself not only as a talented musician, but also as an engineer, producer, and songwriter. Tommy Held has worked with artists such as Grammy/Platinum Award Winning artist Arrested Development (“3 Years, 5 Months and 3 Days in the Life of...”), The Bo Deans (“Go Slow Down,” “Joe Dirt Car”), The Flood (“One Million Miles”), Leonard Salzedo, Present Music, The Kronos Quartet and many others. As lead in the band High Water Limit, Tommy Held cowrote, engineered, and produced on all four of their albums (“Glory Days,” “Absolutely,” “Superfly,” and “Acoustically Yours”). He continues his career as a solo artist and has just released his sixth solo CD, “About Love”.
