Venus Diablo is a hard rock/metal band based in Tarragona, Spain, consisting of Agnieszka Godlewska (vocals), Luis Ortega (guitars), Jordi Barrero (drums), Jordi Prieto (bass), and Xavi Bertran (keyboards). Although rooted in metal riffs and beats, the band's sound is quite unique, incorporating gothic and other eclectic elements, which escapes easy labeling. Characteristic and powerful female vocals make Venus Diablo easily recognizable. Venus Diablo was started in 2003 by former musicians of Gores Romance. For a year the band was unable to find a vocalist, until the summer of 2004, when Agnieszka turned up in response to an advertisement posted in a music shop. She was accepted immediately. Since then, the band created a considerable amount of material and started playing concerts throughout Catalonia. The band's first recording took place in early 2005 and it included 3 tracks: Deceived, Best Friend and Waiting For The Daybreak. In early 2006 the band entered the studio again to record 4 more songs, which, together with the 3 songs from the 2005 demo formed the Flame minialbum. So far the CDs have only been available for sale at band's concerts or via email contact. The songs, however, have been made freely downloadable from the internet. With this first release and their powerful live performances, Venus Diablo received a number of awards in music contests (Baix Gaià Sound, Ebre Musik, or La.Ramona). They also played in more than 30 concert venues and festivals across Catalonia (La Mirona in Salt, Santa Tecla Festival in Tarragona, Mercat de Musica Víva in Vic, or Cambrirock Festival, supporting Mago de Oz). The band also performed a number of acoustic shows under the headline of "Bring Back The Silence". On October 11, 2010 released their new recording entitled "The Fighter", which is available worldwide on iTunes. Currently the group is preparing the promoting tour for. Venus Diablo are not currently signed to any label.
