English We Are Killing Ourselves, were born in 2001 in Almeirim, Portugal, when a circle of friends with similar musical influences, set out to create their own brand of storming metal music. The first demo “Outrage” was recorded in 2002 and since then the band has reached a wider audience and has been able to establish a great relationship with those who have become the band's followers. By 2004 We Are Killing Ourselves recorded an independent EP by the name of “Symbiotic Existence”, produced by Daniel Cardoso. Then began a new crusade on the Portuguese music landscape. With four years of existence and over 200 live performances, sharing stages with Soulfly, Sepultura, (Hed)pe, Moonspell, Municipal Waste, Bizarra Locomotiva, Benediction, Obituary, Textures, Pestilence, Aborted, Ramp and participating in many summer festivals throughout the country, We Are Killing Ourselves have become recognized and respected as one of the hardest working bands in Portugal. .... The band took some time off to reflect and start recording their debut album at Ultrasound Studios. The partnership with Daniel Cardoso has been success full over the years and culminated in a 2007’s “Deconstructive Essence” album. The band sign a 2year contract with the independent label Casket Music and Deconstructive Essence was released worldwide in August 27th 2007. This album achieved a notorious projection in both national and international musical domain, acclaimed as one of the best works on the national artistic field and a serious and genuine promise in the European alternative music. In 2008 We Are Killing Ourselves toured throughout the UK and the USA, namely, in the state of Florida, as headliners. In early 2010, the band planned to record their 2nd album and worked, again, with Daniel Cardoso, at Ultrasound Studios in Braga (PT), having successfully recorded the album “The Road of Awareness”. The album was mixed and mastered by Grammy award winner, Josh Wilbur (Chevelle, Staind, Puddle of Mud, Hatebreed and Lamb of God), at Spin Studios in New York City. After some changes in the band and having gathered all the conditions, the band has signed with the record label Rastilho Records. We Are Killing Ourselves display a fine tuned metal machine of raucous and raw intensity with a polished production and with a heavy live work schedule ahead the band is destined for an audience far outreaching the borders of their homeland. Português O projecto We Are Killing Ourselves surgiu sob o desígnio de Outrage em Janeiro de 2001, quando um círculo de amigos, com as mesmas influências musicais, tentou criar o seu próprio estilo de som. A primeira Demo “Outrage” foi gravada em 2002 e desde então, a banda atingiu um público muito mais vasto com o qual conseguiu criar uma grande empatia. Em 2004, os We Are Killing Ourselves gravam um novo EP independente intitulado “Symbiotic Existence”, cuja produção esteve a cargo de Daniel Cardoso. Aí começou uma nova cruzada no meio musical… Com quatro anos de existência e mais de 200 actuações ao vivo, partilhando palcos com Soulfly, Sepultura, (Hed)pe, Moonspell, Municipal Waste, Bizarra Locomotiva, Benediction, Obituary, Textures, Pestilence, Aborted, Ramp, Entombed, Paradise Lost e participando em vários festivais de Verão por todo o país, os We Are Killing Ourselves começaram a ser reconhecidos e respeitados como uma das maiores bandas de metal em Portugal. A banda tirou algum tempo para reflectir e começou a gravar o seu albúm de estreia no UltraSound Studios. A relação com o produtor Daniel Cardoso sempre foi bastante próspera ao longo dos anos e em 2007, culminou no álbum ”Deconstructive Essence”. A banda assinou um contrato de 2 anos pela editora independente Casket Music, e a 27 de agosto de 2007 o álbum “Deconstructive Essence” foi lançado a nível mundial. Álbum este, que ganhou notória projecção no domínio musical nacional e internacional, aclamado como uma das melhores obras no campo artístico nacional e uma séria e genuína promessa na música alternativa europeia. Em 2008, os We Are Killing Ourselves assinaram contrato com a ilustre Dean Guitars e Ddrum e andaram em tour, como cabeças de cartaz, pelo Reino Unido e pelos Estados Unidos da América, nomeadamente no estado da Flórida. No início de 2010, a banda planeou gravar o seu 2º álbum e trabalhou novamente com o produtor Daniel Cardoso no UltraSound Studios em Braga, gravando com êxito o álbum “The Road of Awareness”. Este foi mixado e masterizado por Josh Wilbur, vencedor do prémio Grammy (Chevelle, Staind, Puddle of Mud, Hatebreed e Lamb of God) nos Spin Studios, na cidade de Nova Iorque. Após algumas mudanças e tendo reunido todas as condições, a banda assina com a editora Rastilho Records. Os We Are Killing Ourselves ostentam uma máquina sonora poderosa com uma intensidade estridente e energéticamente raivosa. Com uma produção reluzente e com bastantes actuações ao vivo marcadas, a banda é destinada a um público que se extende para além da sua terra natal, procurando uma constante expansão dos seus horizontes.
